Let $z=(1+i)$

$\tan \alpha=\left|\frac{\operatorname{Im}(z)}{\operatorname{Re}(z)}\right|$

= 1

$\Rightarrow \alpha=\frac{\pi}{4}$

Since, $z$ lies in the first quadrant.

Therefore, $\arg (z)=\frac{\pi}{4}$
