Tick (✓) the correct answer

Question:

Tick (✓) the correct answer

If $\frac{x+1}{2 x+3}=\frac{3}{8}$, then $x=?$

(a) $\frac{1}{4}$

(b) $\frac{1}{3}$

(C) $\frac{1}{6}$

(d) $\frac{1}{2}$

Solution:

(d) $\frac{1}{2}$

$\frac{x+1}{2 x+3}=\frac{3}{8}$

$\Rightarrow 8(x+1)=3(2 x+3)$

$\Rightarrow 8 x+8=6 x+9$

$\Rightarrow 8 x-6 x=9-8$

$\Rightarrow 2 x=1$

$\Rightarrow x=\frac{1}{2}$
