There are a total of 90 questions in the JEE Mains exam. Candidates are required to attempt 75 out of 90 questions in 3 hours. Since there is a negative marking of -1 for each incorrect answer, you should only attempt the questions you are sure about.

JEE Main Exam Pattern 2024

NTA released the JEE Main 2024 exam pattern on their official website jeemain.nta.ac.in. You can check the information bulletin to know the exam pattern of JEE Main 2024. The exam paper pattern includes the exam duration, marking scheme, JEE Mains total marks, and other details. The JEE BTech paper has 30 questions in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in each subject. JEE Main 2024 paper 1 includes 20 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and 10 numerical value questions, only 5 of which are required. Students appearing for the JEE Main Exam must be aware of the NTA JEE syllabus along with the paper pattern. NTA is conducting the JEE Main exam for three hours.

JEE Main Paper Pattern 2024: 

As per the IIT JEE exam pattern guidelines, each subject will have two sections. Section A will be of MCQs and Section B will contain questions whose answers are to be filled in as a numerical value. In Section B, aspirants have to attempt any 05 (five) questions out of 10. There will be negative markings for each part Section A and Section B. For each question in Section B, a candidate has to enter the correct integer value of the answer using the mouse and the on-screen virtual numeric keypad designated to enter the correct answer. In Section B, the answer should be rounded off to the nearest integer.
