What Are the Available JEE Main 2024 Question Papers?
JEE Main 2024 was conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) across two sessions. Session 1 ran from January 24 to February 1, 2024, and Session 2 ran from April 4 to April 9, 2024. Over 12.57 lakh candidates registered for Session 2 alone, making it one of the largest engineering entrance exams in the world.
Each session had two daily shifts — Shift 1 (9 AM to 12 PM) and Shift 2 (3 PM to 6 PM) — producing a different question set for every slot. All papers are available below as free PDF downloads, along with detailed answer keys prepared by eSaral's faculty team.
Practising with actual past papers is one of the most effective ways to understand question-difficulty patterns. Pair your paper practice with strong conceptual notes — starting with NCERT Solutions for Class 11 Physics and Class 12 Physics — to close any theory gaps before attempting timed mocks.
| Do not just check answers after solving a paper. Spend twice the time on post-analysis — identify which topic caused the error, whether it was conceptual or careless, and log it. Students who do structured post-analysis in eSaral's JEE batches improve their score by 20–30 marks within 4 weeks |

Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions.
What is the difference between JEE Main Session 1 and Session 2 papers?
Session 1 (January) and Session 2 (April) both test the same syllabus but have entirely different question sets. Your best score from the two sessions is used for ranking. The April session typically attracts candidates using Session 1 performance as a benchmark, and historical data shows the difficulty levels are broadly similar, though paper-specific variation exists.
Can I use JEE Main 2024 papers to prepare for JEE Main 2025?
Absolutely. JEE Main follows a consistent syllabus and question style year on year. Solving 2024 papers gives you direct insight into question difficulty, topic weightage, and time management benchmarks. Combine paper practice with concept revision using NCERT Solutions to maximise the benefit.
Is there negative marking in JEE Main 2024 numerical questions?
Yes. Unlike some previous years, JEE Main 2024 carries a –1 negative mark for incorrect numerical value answers in Section B, in addition to the –1 for wrong MCQs in Section A. Correct answers in both sections earn +4 marks. Unattempted questions carry zero marks.
What are the total marks and passing score in JEE Main 2024?
JEE Main Paper 1 carries a total of 300 marks (100 per subject). There is no fixed "passing" score. For admission to top NITs and IIITs, a score of 180+ is generally needed to secure a 99th percentile rank. For the 95th percentile, 110+ marks are the typical benchmark, though cut-offs shift each year slightly.
Are JEE Main 2024 answer keys official or prepared by eSaral?
Both are available. The official provisional answer key is published by NTA on jeemain.nta.ac.in, typically 2–3 days after each exam date. The answer keys available on eSaral are prepared by faculty with verified IIT credentials — including AIR-41 holders from IIT Bombay — and are cross-verified against the NTA final key.
How many question papers are there for JEE Main 2024 in total?
JEE Main 2024 had two sessions. Session 1 had 10 shifts (5 days × 2 shifts) and Session 2 had 10 shifts (5 days × 2 shifts), giving 20 unique Paper 1 sets in total. Subject-wise PDFs for Session 1 are available separately for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, which means 30 individual PDFs for Session 1 alone.
