$x^{3}-5 x^{2}-x+5=x^{2}(x-5)-1(x-5)$

$=(x-5)\left(x^{2}-1\right)$

$=(x-5)\left(x^{2}-1^{2}\right)$

$=(x-5)(x-1)(x+1)$
