Has the NEET Syllabus 2027 Been Released?
Not as a separate document. NMC’s Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) notified the NEET (UG) 2026 syllabus on 22 December 2025 for the 2026–27 academic session, and no dedicated NEET 2027 syllabus notice has appeared since.

Because NMC left the syllabus untouched between 2025 and 2026, a carry-forward for 2027 is the most likely outcome. That is an expectation, not an announcement. We update this page as soon as NMC or NTA publishes anything new, and you can verify directly at nmc.org.in.
NEET Syllabus 2027 at a Glance: Units, Subjects and Marks
NEET tests three subjects across 50 NMC units, and Biology alone is half the paper. The table below summarises the structure you are preparing for (marks as per the NEET 2026 pattern; confirm in the 2027 bulletin).

The syllabus is prescribed by NMC and the exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Questions are based on the NCERT Class 11 and 12 curriculum, so keep the NCERT books as your base text and use this unit list to stay on track.
What Has Changed for NEET 2027 Aspirants?
The syllabus has not changed; the exam format is what is changing. Three developments matter for your 2027 plan:
- No syllabus cuts for 2026. NMC confirmed the 2026 syllabus was unchanged from 2025, so earlier deletions (listed subject by subject below) remain in force.
- The 2026 exam was cancelled and re-held. After paper-leak allegations, NTA cancelled the 3 May 2026 exam on 12 May and held a re-exam on 21 June 2026. Read the background here.
- CBT from 2027. The Union Education Minister announced that NEET UG will move from OMR to computer-based testing. NTA is expected to publish the rules in the information bulletin, so practise with on-screen mock tests early.
NEET Physics Syllabus 2027: Which Chapters and Topics Are Included?
NEET Physics has 20 units, split evenly between Class 11 and Class 12. It is usually the toughest section because questions are numerical and multi-step, so build speed on the units below. For a topic-level breakdown, see our full NEET Physics syllabus page.

Which Physics Topics Are Deleted from the NEET Syllabus?
Several topics were trimmed in the NMC revision and are still excluded for 2027. Skip these unless NMC reinstates them:
- Rolling motion, Reynolds number, shear modulus, and Poisson’s ratio
- Newton’s law of cooling, Stefan’s law and Wien’s displacement law
- Heat engines and refrigerators
- Forced and damped oscillations, and the Doppler effect
- Van de Graaff generator, colour code of carbon resistors, potentiometer, cyclotron
- LC oscillations (qualitative treatment)
- Davisson–Germer experiment details (only the conclusion is needed)
- Properties of alpha, beta and gamma rays and the decay law
- Junction transistor, transistor action and characteristics
Added or newly emphasised: satellite motion and energy, Pascal’s law and fluid pressure, RMS speed of gas molecules, effect of temperature on magnetic properties, dual nature of radiation, and a defined list of experiments under Experimental Skills.

Which Chemistry Chapters Are Not in the NEET Syllabus?
These NCERT chapters do not appear in the NMC unit list, so you can skip them: States of Matter, Hydrogen, s-Block Elements, Solid State, Surface Chemistry, Metallurgy (general principles of isolation of elements), Polymers, Chemistry in Everyday Life and Environmental Chemistry.
Added or newly emphasised: electrochemical cells with the Nernst equation, purification techniques, and the practical chemistry unit (functional-group detection, titrations, salt analysis).

Is the Cockroach in the NEET Syllabus 2027? Is the Frog?
The cockroach is out; the frog is in. The brief account of the structure and organ systems of an insect (cockroach) was removed from the NMC syllabus, and the frog was added in the Structural Organisation in Animals and Plants unit. The official syllabus line is worded “insect (Frog)”, but the frog is an amphibian, not an insect. Also added: five plant families (Malvaceae, Cruciferae, Leguminosae, Compositae, Gramineae), classification and nomenclature of enzymes, and protein biosynthesis.
Which Biology Topics Are Deleted from the NEET Syllabus?
Skip these topics in your NEET 2027 Biology preparation:
- Three domains of life and taxonomic aids (museums, zoos, herbaria, botanical gardens); classification of angiosperms up to class level
- Transport in plants and mineral nutrition; seed dormancy and vernalisation
- Digestion and absorption (alimentary canal, enzymes, digestive disorders); sense organs and the structure of eye and ear
- Reproduction in organisms (asexual reproduction and vegetative propagation)
- Tobacco abuse and strategies for enhancing food production (plant breeding, tissue culture, single cell protein, biofortification, apiculture and animal husbandry)
- Habitat and niche, population adaptations, nutrient cycling, ecological succession and ecological services
- Environmental issues (air and water pollution, solid waste, ozone depletion, deforestation and case studies)
Some of these chapters still appear in your school NCERT, so a topic being in your textbook does not mean it is in NEET. When unsure, check the official unit list on nmc.org.in.

Cell and Evolution in Biology, Coordination Compounds in Chemistry, and Modern Physics in Physics led the NEET 2026 paper. Use weightage to prioritise revision, never to skip chapters. Our NEET 2026 paper analysis gives the full breakdown. The top chapters were:

Counts differ slightly between analyses because papers were set in multiple codes, so treat them as indicative. How to Complete the NEET 2027 Syllabus in 6 Months
Yes, you can, if you finish one full pass by January and use the rest of the time for revision and mock tests. If the exam falls on 2 May 2027 (unconfirmed), about 194 days remain from 20 October 2026. A practical phase plan:
