Performance in JEE Main 2026
You must rank among the top 2,50,000 candidates (across all categories) in JEE Main 2026. This is the primary gateway. Your JEE Main score determines whether you even get to sit for JEE Advanced.
Age Limit
Candidates born on or after October 1, 2001, are eligible (General/OBC-NCL/EWS). For SC, ST, and PwD candidates, the age relaxation gives a birthdate cutoff of October 1, 1996.
Number of Attempts
A student can attempt JEE Advanced a maximum of 2 times in 2 consecutive years. If you appeared for JEE Advanced 2025, 2026 is your final attempt — there is no third chance, regardless of the reason.
Qualification in Class 12 (or equivalent)
You must have first appeared in Class 12 (or equivalent) in either 2025 or 2026. Students who appeared for the first time in 2024 or earlier are not eligible for JEE Advanced 2026.
