Solution:
$4 x^{2}-9 y^{2}-2 x-3 y=\left(4 x^{2}-9 y^{2}\right)-(2 x+3 y)$
$=\left[(2 x)^{2}-(3 y)^{2}\right]-(2 x+3 y)$
$=(2 x-3 y)(2 x+3 y)-1(2 x+3 y)$
$=(2 x+3 y)(2 x-3 y-1)$
