Prove that the function

Question:

Prove that the function $f$ given by $f(x)=x-[x]$ is increasing in $(0,1) ?$

Solution:

we have,

$f(x)=x-[x]$

$\therefore f^{\prime}(x)=1>0$

$\therefore f(x)$ is an increasing function on $(0,1)$
