Question:
If $y=\log |3 x|, x \neq 0$, find $\frac{d y}{d x}$.
Solution:
$y=\log |3 x|$
So, $\frac{d y}{d x}=\frac{1}{3 x} \cdot 3$
$=\frac{1}{x}, x \neq 0$
i.e., $\frac{d y}{d x}=\frac{1}{x}, x \neq 0$ (Ans)
