BITSAT 2027 Registration: Dates, Steps and Documents

BITSAT 2027 registration is expected to open in mid-December 2026 on admissions.bits-pilani.ac.in, and the Session 1 window should close around mid-March 2027. Apply as soon as the form opens, because the exam centre and slot you want fill up first. In the 2026 cycle, BITS also extended both deadlines by a few days, so do not count on an extension.

Registration windows (expected)

  • Window 1: Mid-December 2026 to mid-March 2027. Use this to apply for Session 1 only, or for both sessions together.
  • Window 2: Late April to early May 2027. Use this only if you skipped Session 1 and want Session 2.

How to apply for BITSAT 2027

  1. Open the official admissions website and click the BITSAT 2027 apply link.
  2. Register with your name, email and mobile number. You will get an application number (user ID) and password by email and SMS.
  3. Log in and fill in your personal details, Class 12 details and exam centre preferences.
  4. Choose your session: Session 1 only, Session 2 only, or both. The total fee shows on screen.
  5. Upload a recent photograph and your signature as JPG files. In 2026 the limits were 50-100 KB for the photo and 10-100 KB for the signature; check the 2027 brochure for the exact size.
  6. Pay the application fee online by card, net banking or UPI.
  7. Preview the form, submit it, and save the confirmation page and payment receipt.

Documents to keep ready

  • Recent passport-size photograph
  • Scanned signature
  • Class 10 and Class 12 details (marks sheets are needed at admission stage, not usually at the form stage)
  • Active email ID and mobile number
  • Debit card, credit card or UPI for payment

The application fee is non-refundable, and unclear photos or signatures can get the form rejected. After you submit, BITS opens a short correction window, so recheck every field before the deadline anyway.

BITSAT 2027 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for BITSAT 2027, you need a Class 12 pass (or appearance) in the stated years with at least 75% in Physics, Chemistry and Maths (or Biology) combined and at least 60% in each of those subjects. There is no fixed age limit. The criteria below follow the BITSAT 2026 rules, and the 2027 brochure will confirm the exact passing years.

Points students often ask about

  • Droppers and improvement candidates: They can apply if their Class 12 pass year falls inside the allowed years and they meet the same 75% and 60% marks rule.
  • Category or reservation: BITSAT has no reservation quota, so the same marks rule applies to every category. Admission goes by BITSAT score and merit.
  • Board toppers: BITS has a separate direct-admission route for first-rank board toppers who meet the 75% and 60% marks conditions. Read the official brochure for the exact boards and rules.
  • International applicants: A 75% aggregate (or 7.5 CGPA) with 60% (or 6.0 CGPA) in each subject is the usual requirement.
  • Class 12 result pending: You can still sit BITSAT if you are appearing in 2027. Your Class 12 marks are checked later, at the admission stage.

BITSAT 2027 Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme

BITSAT 2027 is expected to be a 3-hour online test with 130 multiple-choice questions worth 390 marks, where every correct answer gives +3 and every wrong answer takes away 1 mark. This matches the BITSAT 2026 pattern, and BITS usually repeats the format year to year.

Key points about the pattern

  • Mode: Computer-based test at an allotted test centre; the paper is in English.
  • Time: 180 minutes, which works out to about 83 seconds per question.
  • Marking: +3 for a correct answer, -1 for a wrong answer, 0 for an unattempted question. Worried about negative marking? Learn when to guess and when to skip by attempting a full-length paper in our BITSAT Online Test Series.
  • Bonus questions: If you finish all 130 questions before time runs out, you can attempt 12 extra questions spread across the subjects. Once you start them, you cannot go back and change earlier answers. Sources differ on the exact subject split, so check the 2027 brochure.
  • Two attempts: You can sit both sessions. BITS considers your better score for admission.

BITS Pilani does not release official papers, so practise this pattern with memory-based BITSAT previous year question papers (2017-2026) PDF. Solve them in a timed 3-hour sitting to build speed for all 130 questions.

BITSAT 2027 Syllabus

The BITSAT 2027 syllabus is based on the NCERT Class 11 and Class 12 curriculum for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (or Biology for B.Pharm), plus English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning. BITS publishes the official syllabus PDF with the brochure; the topics below follow the BITSAT 2026 syllabus and are not expected to change much.

Logical Reasoning

20

Verbal reasoning (analogies, series, syllogisms, deduction) and non-verbal reasoning (pattern recognition, figure matrices, figure formation and analysis)

How to use the syllabus

  • Start with NCERT. It covers most Chemistry and Biology questions. Physics and Maths need extra problem practice on top of it.
  • Do not ignore Part III. English and Logical Reasoning together carry 30 questions and 90 marks, and many test takers find them the quickest to score.
  • Expect overlap with JEE Main, but BITSAT adds English and Reasoning and asks for faster solving.
  • Download the official PDF from the admissions site once the 2027 brochure is out, and mark any chapters added or removed.

Know what BITS actually asks. Solve chapter-wise questions from BITSAT Previous Year Question Papers after finishing each topic.

BITSAT 2027 Application Fee, Cutoff and Admission Process

The BITSAT 2027 application fee has not been announced. Based on the 2026 cycle, expect about Rs 3,400 for boys and Rs 2,900 for girls for one session, and about Rs 5,400 and Rs 4,400 for both sessions. The final amount shows in the application form before you pay, so go by that.

Candidate

One session (2026 fee)

Both sessions (2026 fee)

Male

Rs 3,400

Rs 5,400

Female

Rs 2,900

Rs 4,400

Fees can differ for exam centres outside India. The fee is non-refundable, so check your details before you pay.

BITSAT cutoff: Computer Science at BITS Pilani

BITSAT has no fixed qualifying score. Admission depends on how your score compares with other candidates, your programme and campus choices, and seat availability. Closing scores for the most sought-after branch, B.E. Computer Science at the Pilani campus, have moved like this:

Year

Final closing score (out of 390)

2023

331

2024

327

2025

304

2026

308

Cutoffs mean little until you know your own score. Attempt the BITSAT 2026 Session 1 and Session 2 papers in exam conditions and compare your marks with the 304-331 closing-score range above.

How admission works after BITSAT

  1. Take BITSAT in one or both sessions. Your better score is used.
  2. Fill the programme preference form with your Class 12 marks and your campus and branch choices (the 2026 deadline was 1 June 2026, per the official site).
  3. BITS publishes admit lists and waitlists in rounds called iterations; Iteration I came out on 15 June in 2026.
  4. Accept your seat and complete fee payment and document verification within the given dates.

If two candidates have the same BITSAT score, their Class 12 marks in Physics, Chemistry and Maths are used to break the tie.
