अध्याय 5 — जैव प्रक्रम
जैव प्रक्रम (jaiv prakram) सजीवों के जीवित रहने के लिए आवश्यक प्रक्रियाएँ समझाता है। इसमें पोषण (स्वपोषी, विषमपोषी, मनुष्य में पोषण), श्वसन, वहन (मानव में वहन, पादपों में परिवहन) और उत्सर्जन (मानव और पादप में) शामिल हैं। यह इस भाग का सबसे लंबा अध्याय है।
अध्याय 6 — नियंत्रण एवं समन्वय
जंतु-तंत्रिका तंत्र, प्रतिवर्ती क्रिया, मानव मस्तिष्क और तंत्रिका ऊतक की क्रिया; पादपों में समन्वय (उद्दीपन के लिए तत्काल अनुक्रिया और वृद्धि के कारण गति) तथा जंतुओं में हॉर्मोन।
अध्याय 7 — जीव जनन कैसे करते हैं
विभिन्नता का महत्व, एकल जीवों में जनन (विखंडन, खंडन, पुनरुद्भवन, मुकुलन, कायिक प्रवर्धन, बीजाणु समासंघ), पुष्पी पौधों में लैंगिक जनन, मानव में लैंगिक जनन और जनन स्वास्थ्य।
अध्याय 8 — आनुवंशिकता
जनन के दौरान विभिन्नताओं का संचय, वंशागत लक्षण, मेंडल के प्रयोग, लक्षण अपने आप को कैसे व्यक्त करते हैं और लिंग निर्धारण। यह छोटा अध्याय (7 पेज) है, पर इससे सीधे प्रश्न पूछे जाते हैं।

पारितंत्र और उसके घटक, आहार श्रृंखला एवं जाल, ओजोन परत और उसका अपक्षय, तथा कचरा प्रबंधन।
