NEET 2024 Counselling: The NEET 2024 test took place on May 5, 2024, and the results were made public on June 4 of that same year. Therefore, it is anticipated that in July 2024, or about a month after the results are announced, the MCC NEET counseling 2024 would start. The counseling procedure for NEET 2024 is expected to take four to five months, with around six rounds, contingent on the number of open seats.

Under the direction of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will manage NEET counseling for 27,868 BDS and 1,09,145 MBBS seats nationwide. Additionally, MCC NEET counseling will be used to assign about 1,000 seats for BSc Nursing. An outline of NEET Counseling 2024 may be seen below:

NEET Counselling Process 2024

MCC NEET UG counselling 2024 is conducted online at their official website mcc.nic.in. For All India Quota (AIQ) seats, there are mainly four rounds: Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and the Stray Vacancy Round. The number of rounds may vary based on the number of vacant seats. In 2023, MCC included two additional rounds for BDS and BSc Nursing course admissions. Seat allotment covers government and private medical colleges, deemed/central universities, ESIC/AFMS institutes, AIIMS, and JIPMER. MCC NEET counselling process 2024 involves the following steps:

1. Release of NEET 2024 Seat Matrix

MCC publishes the seat matrix for MBBS and BDS courses across participating universities giving 15% AIQ seats.

2. NEET Counselling 2024 Registration

You must register online for each round, except the Stray Vacancy round. During NEET Counselling 2024 registration, aspirants provide contact details, NEET 2024 Roll Number, Rank, Scores, and other required information. Non-refundable registration fees and a refundable security deposit must be paid for each round.

3. NEET Counselling 2024 Choice Filling

You select your preferred colleges online. It is advised to prepare a tentative list of preferred colleges before filling choices online.

4. NEET Counselling 2024 Choice Locking

You must lock your choices to finalize your selection and print the submitted choices. Once locked, choices once completed cannot  be modified. MCC advises candidates not to wait until the last minute to lock choices.

5. Verification and Processing of Seat Allotment

Universities and colleges verify the registration details and choices submitted by candidates and then release the seat allotment results, and share them with MCC.

6. NEET 2024 Seat Allotment Result

MCC releases a provisional seat allotment result, allowing candidates to submit objections. Afterward, the final result is published. Candidates can either accept the seat, report to the institute, or opt for an upgrade in subsequent rounds.

7. NEET Counselling 2024 Document Upload

After seat allotment, you have to upload the required documents to the MCC NEET 2024 counselling website.

8. Institute Reporting

Candidates report to their allotted institute with the hard copies of mandatory documents and pay the admission fees.

Note: In the Stray Vacancy round, the seat allotment result is released directly, and registration or choice-filling is not required. Candidates should note that the Stray Vacancy round does not require registration or choice-filling, and the seat allotment result is released directly.

Step 1: Visit the MCC website at [https://mcc.nic.in/](https://mcc.nic.in/).

Step 2: Click on the menu icon to open the navigation menu.

Step 3: Select “UG Medical” from the menu options.

Step 4: Navigate to the “Important Links” section and click on it.

Step 5: Find and click on the “Registration” link.

Step 6: Enter your basic details as required in the registration form.

Step 7: Complete the registration process by following the provided instructions.

Step 8: Once registered, proceed to the choice filling and locking stage.

Step 9: Select your preferred colleges and courses based on availability and your eligibility.

Step 10: After finalizing your choices, lock your selections to confirm them, then submit.

NEET 2024 Counselling For 15% All India Quota

The MCC will conduct four rounds of counselling which will be  AIQ Round 1, AIQ Round 2, AIQ Mop-up round, and stray vacancy round. Students who qualify as part of the All India Quota will be eligible based on their NEET results 2024, other than the Union Territory of J&K. in case seats remain vacant after round 2 of NEET counselling 2024 in AIQ, they will be sent back to the states.

The AIQ for NEET counselling 2023 will include the following:

  • 15% MBBS/BDS Seats of States

  • 100% MBBS/BDS Seats of BHU

  • 100% MBBS Seats of AIIMS across India

  • All India Quota of JIPMER (Puducherry/ Karaikal)

  • All India Quota seats of AMU/ DU/ VMMC/ ABVIMS

  • All India Quota Seats of Faculty of Dentistry (Jamia Milia Islamia)

ESIC

  • ESIC 15% seats would be allotted through All India Quota (Round one & two).

  • The remaining 85% seats shall be treated as state quota seats and will be open to all the candidates participating in the Mop-up Round.

Central university/institute

  • There will be four rounds of NEET 2024 counselling i.e. Round 1, Round 2 of AIQ and Mop-Up Round & Stray Vacancy Round.

  • Out of the four rounds, three rounds will be conducted online by MCC i.e. Round 1, Round 2 and Mop-Up Round.

  • Stray Vacancy round shall be conducted by the respective Central University/Institute.
