From a Hut to IIT Bombay: The Inspiring Journey of Viplav

Cracking the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is a daunting task that requires both passion and proper guidance. However, Biplab's story is a testament that with hard work and dedication, anyone can overcome the odds and achieve their dreams.

Biplab comes from a small village called Harachandrapur in the Nadia district of West Bengal. He had never heard of JEE until his 11th grade, when one of his teachers mentioned it in passing. Despite his lack of knowledge about the exam, Biplab was determined to crack it and secure a spot in the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT).

Biplab's living conditions were far from ideal. He resided in a small house made of mud, which lacked proper roofing, and after it rained, water used to pour in. Moreover, he had to help his family with farming activities, which left him with little time to focus on his studies. Additionally, his family did not have a gas connection for cooking.

The people around him discouraged him, saying that the exam was too difficult and required a lot of money to prepare for. They advised him to focus on state-level colleges instead. Even with these negative comments, Biplab refused to give up on his dream.

He faced another obstacle as he had no internet connection until the first lockdown. But, after some time, he managed to get an internet connection in his mud hut. Biplab's resourcefulness led him to search for information about JEE, and he discovered that passing the exam required only 30-40%. He realized that he had been wrong all along and decided to take the exam in his 12th grade, regardless of whether he cleared it or not.

Biplab's first attempt at JEE Main scored 82%ile, and he performed well in JEE Advanced, although he did not make the final cut. He then realized that he needed proper guidance and a support system to crack the exam. It was then that he discovered eSaral, an online learning platform for JEE, NEET, and classes 8-10.

At eSaral, Biplab received video lectures from IITian faculties with real-life examples and a personal mentor to guide him on his journey. He could share his personal and study-related problems with his mentor and take tests to analyze his mistakes and improve on them.

With the help of his teachers and mentor, Biplab prepared well for JEE Advanced. On the day of the exam, he was nervous, but his brother's encouragement helped him regain his confidence. Although his first paper did not go as well as he had hoped, he rallied and performed well on the second paper.

On the day of the result, Biplab was overjoyed to learn that he had cleared the exam with an All India Rank (AIR) of 626 in the SC category. He had achieved his dream of getting into IIT Bombay, and his family was proud of his accomplishment.

Biplab dedicated his success to his supportive family and eSaral, where he received guidance from some of Kota's top IITian faculties. He had become an inspiration to his community and had set an example for future generations to follow. eSaral also promised to support him in case he faced any further challenges during his time at IIT.
