11.1 Introduction - In the first part of the class 8 maths chapter Direct and Inverse proportion, many examples are shown from everyday life where the concept of proportion is used. For example:

Question 1. What is Direct Proportion in NCERT solutions for class 8 maths chapter 11 ?

Answer 1. Two quantities x and y are said to be in direct proportion if they increase (decrease) together in such a manner that the ratio of their corresponding values remains constant.
