How Important Is NCERT for Class 11 Chemistry?

Very. According to NTA's released answer keys and question papers, 15–20% of JEE Main Chemistry questions are directly lifted from NCERT Class 11 text — including statements, definitions, and examples. For NEET, this figure is even higher for the Organic and Inorganic Chemistry sections.

Class 11 NCERT English has two textbooks: Hornbill (main textbook with prose and poetry) and Snapshots (supplementary reader with shorter prose pieces). Both are prescribed by CBSE for Class 11 English Core.

Hornbill includes 8 prose chapters and 5 poems. Snapshots includes 8 short stories. Board exams draw questions from both books — long answers typically from Hornbill, short answers and value-based questions from Snapshots.

What Are the NCERT Class 11 Hindi Books?

NCERT Class 11 Hindi includes different textbooks based on the Hindi course chosen by students in CBSE schools. The two most commonly prescribed books are Aroh (आरोह) and Vitan (वितान) for Hindi Core. Students who opt for Hindi Elective study additional literature and supplementary books.

Aroh contains prose and poetry chapters focused on language skills, literature, and critical thinking. Vitan includes supplementary chapters designed to improve comprehension and analytical understanding.

They can also write down the explanation in their own language for better understanding. Similarly, using highlighters and colored pens to mark important points, formulas, equations, or examples makes the key points stand out, which is beneficial at the time of exams.
