A cylinder and a cone are of the same base

Question:

A cylinder and a cone are of the same base radius and of same height. Find the ratio of the value of the cylinder to that of the cone

Solution:

Since, cylinder and a cone both are have same radius and height.

Therefore,

$\frac{V_{1}}{V_{2}}=\frac{\pi r^{2} h}{\frac{1}{3} \pi r^{2} h}$

$\frac{V_{1}}{V_{2}}=\frac{1}{\frac{1}{3}}$

$\frac{V_{1}}{V_{2}}=\frac{3}{1}$

$V_{1}: V_{2}=3: 1$
