Evaluate
$\lim _{x \rightarrow a}\left\{\frac{(x+2)^{5 / 3}-(a+2)^{5 / 3}}{x-a}\right\}$
To evaluate:
$\lim _{x \rightarrow a}\left\{\frac{(x+2)^{\frac{5}{3}}-(a+2)^{\frac{5}{3}}}{x-a}\right\}$
Formula used: We have,
$\frac{x^{m}-y^{m}}{x-y}=m y^{m-1}$
As $\mathrm{x} \rightarrow \mathrm{a}$, we have
$\lim _{x \rightarrow a}\left\{\frac{(x+2)^{\frac{5}{3}}-(a+2)^{\frac{5}{3}}}{x-a}\right\}=\lim _{x \rightarrow a}\left\{\frac{(x+2)^{\frac{5}{3}}-(a+2)^{\frac{5}{3}}}{(x+2)-(a+2)}\right\}$
$\lim _{x \rightarrow a}\left\{\frac{(x+2)^{\frac{5}{3}}-(a+2)^{\frac{5}{3}}}{x-a}\right\}=\frac{5}{3}(a+2)^{\frac{5}{3}-1}$
$\lim _{x \rightarrow a}\left\{\frac{(x+2)^{\frac{5}{3}}-(a+2)^{\frac{5}{3}}}{x-a}\right\}=\frac{5}{3}(a+2)^{\frac{2}{3}}$
Thus, the value of $\lim _{x \rightarrow a}\left\{\frac{(x+2)^{\frac{5}{3}}-(a+2)^{\frac{5}{3}}}{x-a}\right\}$ is $\frac{5}{3}(a+2)^{\frac{2}{3}}$
