Question:
For a glass prism (µ = √3 ) the angle of minimum deviation is equal to the angle of the prism. Find the angle of the prism.
Solution:
μ = sin[(A + δm)/2]/sin (A/2)
Substituting the values of μ = sin A/sin A/2
μ = sin A/sin A/2 = 2 cos A/2
A = 60o
Therefore, the required angle is 60o
