By using the relationship between the zeros of the quadratic ploynomial.
We have
Product of zeroes $=\frac{\text { constant term }}{\text { coefficent of } x^{2}}$
$\Rightarrow 3=\frac{k}{1}$
$\Rightarrow k=3$
