 Number of the form 3N + 2 will leave remainder 2 when divided by 3.



Let x = 3N + 2. Then, it can be written as.

x = (a multiple of 3) + 2

i.e. x is a number which is 2 more than a multiple of 3

i.e. x is a number, which when divided by 3, leaves the remainder 2.
