Solution:

Let $(2+\sqrt{2})$ and $(2-\sqrt{2})$ be two irrational numbers.

Sum $=(2+\sqrt{2})+(2-\sqrt{2})=2+\sqrt{2}+2-\sqrt{2}=4$, which is a rational number.
