Question:
Why are root nodules useful for the plants?
(CCE 2012)
Solution:
Root nodules mostly occur in legume plants. These nodules contain nitrogen fixing bacteria named
Rhizabium. The bacteria pick up nitrogen from soil atmosphere and convert it into organic compounds. The same pass into plant so that legumes become rich in proteins and other nitrogen compounds.
