JEE Advanced 2024 Application Form: Who is Eligible?

Candidates aiming for JEE Advanced 2024 eligibility must secure a minimum of 75% marks (65% for SC/ST candidates) in their 10+2 exams in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. • Birth certificate or Class X certificate confirming the date of birth is required.

• Class XII certificate for candidates appearing for the first time in 2022-23 session or whose Board released the Class XII results for the academic session 2021-22 after October 25, 2022.

• If available, a mark sheet of class 12th for the 2024 exam.

• Identity proof like Citizenship certificate, Foreign Passport, OCI/PIO Card.

• If the candidate's name differs from the one on the Class X certificate, a Gazette notification for the name change is required.

• The suggested certificate issuing date for the GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL category is April 1, 2024, or later. A Declaration in Lieu of GEN-EWS Certificate/OBC-NCL Certificate is necessary in the event of non-availability. 

• For SC/ST category, the latest Caste (for SC) or the tribe (for ST) certificate following the Government of India's guidelines .

2. OCI/PIO Card (if applicable): The candidate may also be required to submit a copy of their OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) or PIO (Persons of Indian Origin) card. 

3. Educational Certificates: Usually, transcripts or certificates attesting to the candidate's higher secondary and secondary education—which correspond to the 10th and 12th grades in India needed. 

4. Proof of Eligibility: Documentation which indicates that the candidate meets the eligibility criteria for NRI/Foreign candidates is often necessary. This might include certificates from the school or educational board.

5. Passport Size Photographs: Recent passport-size photographs may be needed for identification.

6. Proof of Birth: A birth certificate or an equivalent document indicating the date of birth might be required.

7. Proof of Residence: A copy of the candidate's PIO (Persons of Indian Origin) or OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) card may also be needed. Regarding NRIs, it could be required to provide documentation of their status as NRIs and their overseas residence location.
