If |x – 1| ≤ 2 then

Question:

If |x – 1| ≤ 2 then –1 _______ x < 3.

Solution:

If  |x – 1| ≤ 2

i.e. –2 ≤ x – 1 ≤ 2                      (By defination of modulus inequality)

Now, By adding 1 throught the inequality,

We get,

–2 + 1 ≤ x – 1 + 1 ≤ 2 + 1

i.e –1 ≤ x ≤ 3
