Question.
Oxygen atom has 8 electrons, 8 protons and 8 neutrons whereas sulphur atom has 16 electrons,
16 protons and 16 neutrons. Find out the mass number of oxygen and sulphur atoms.
Oxygen atom has 8 electrons, 8 protons and 8 neutrons whereas sulphur atom has 16 electrons,
16 protons and 16 neutrons. Find out the mass number of oxygen and sulphur atoms.
Solution:
Mass number of oxygen = Number of protons + Number of neutrons = 8 + 8 =16
Mass number of sulphur = Number of protons + Number of neutrons = 16 +16 = 32
Mass number of oxygen = Number of protons + Number of neutrons = 8 + 8 =16
Mass number of sulphur = Number of protons + Number of neutrons = 16 +16 = 32
