sin (45° + θ) – cos (45° – θ) is equal to

Question:

sin (45° + θ) – cos (45° – θ) is equal to

(a) 2 cosθ

(b) 0

(c) 2 sinθ

(d) 1

Solution:

(b) sin(45° + θ) – cos(45° – θ) = cos[90°- (45° + θ)] – cos(45°- 6) [∴ cos(90° – θ) = sin0]

= cos (45° – 0) – cos (45° – 0)

= 0
