IIT Guwahati Admission
The admission to the IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology), including the IIT(Guwahati) is very competitive and is done through the national-level admission test known as the JEE (Joint Entrance Examination). Here’s what you need to know about the admission process to IIT Guwahati.
Steps to JEE Main Admission:
The first step to JEE Main admission is to appear in the examination conducted by the NTA (National Testing Agency). This is the qualifying examination for Jee Advanced. Based on the scores and ranks obtained in JEE Main, you will be eligible to appear in the second phase of JEE Advance. Only the top candidates in JEE Main can appear in JEE Advance.
Register for JEE Advance: You will need to register on the official website of JEE Advanced if you qualify for the exam.
Attend JEE Advanced: The JEE Advanced is a two-part examination. The result of JEE Advanced will determine your eligibility to apply to various Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
Check Your Rank: Once the results of JEE Advanced are declared, you will be able to check your rank on the official website of the Indian Institute of Education (IIT).
JoSAA Counseling: Once you have achieved the rank of JEE Advanced, you will be required to take part in the joint seat allocation authority (JSA) counselling. Through JSA, you can choose your preferred institute and courses according to your rank.
Seat allocation: Joint Admission Standard Authentication (JOSAA) will determine the seat allocation on the basis of your rank, your options, and the number of seats available in various institutes and courses.
Accepting and Reporting : If you have been allotted a seat at the institute, you will have to accept it online. You will have to go through the reporting and verification steps at the institute to confirm your admission.
Verify your documents: Once you have finished the reporting and verified your documents, you will be able to confirm your admission to the institute and begin your academic journey.
