Solution:
We have:
$(x-2 y)^{2}+4 x-8 y=(x-2 y)^{2}+4(x-2 y)$
$=(x-2 y)(x-2 y)+4(x-2 y)$
$=(x-2 y)\{(x-2 y)+4\}$
$=(x-2 y)(x-2 y+4)$
$\therefore(x-2 y)^{2}+4 x-8 y=(x-2 y)(x-2 y+4)$
